Front-Open or Standard Suitcase? How to Choose

Choose a suitcase by the way you use it during a journey. If you often reach for a laptop or documents between trains and flights, a front compartment can be useful. If most of your belongings stay packed until you arrive, opening style may matter less than weight and capacity.

When front access helps

A front-opening compartment gives access to selected items without opening the main packing space. Check the actual compartment dimensions against your device, including its protective case. A screen-size label alone does not guarantee a fit.

Compare the whole suitcase

Opening style does not tell you whether a case is cabin eligible. Compare external dimensions, empty weight and capacity, then check your airline’s rules for your flight. Include packed weight and any expansion in your decision.

Model and size Dimensions (cm) Empty weight Capacity
669 S 54.5 × 35 × 23 3.96kg 42L
669 M / L 60 × 43 × 26 / 73 × 48 × 30 4.87 / 6.05kg 65 / 97L
L333 S 55 × 34.5 × 24.5 4kg 40L
L333 M / L 63.5 × 39.5 × 28.5 / 73.5 × 45.5 × 32 5 / 6kg 65 / 95L

A practical buying checklist

  • Measure the items you need to access during transit.
  • Compare the selected size, rather than the model name alone.
  • Leave room for clothes and accessories in the main compartment.
  • Check wheel, handle and locking features on the product page.

669 or L333: compare the selected size

Both models combine front access with an aluminum frame and PC shell. Use the size table to compare the suitcase you will actually carry.

These are the dimensions in the current product specifications. Confirm how they are measured before relying on them for a flight. L333 lists device screen sizes up to 12.9 inches for S and 15.6 inches for M/L; compare the actual device and compartment dimensions too.

Which should I compare first?

Start with 669 if you want to compare its listed 42L S capacity with L333's 40L. If L333's listed laptop compartment suits your device, check that model's full specification. The S weights are close, so base the choice on fit and the selected size rather than a broad “lighter” claim.
